Spinal Cord Injured (SCI) youths face unique challenges, including limited mobility and the need for specialized living arrangements. Recognizing this, Alamba Charitable Trust has launched a pilot program aimed at providing wheelchair-accessible residential facilities for SCI individuals.
In partnership with Neo Motion Assistive Pvt. Ltd. (an IIT Madras incubation company) and Zomato, we are creating opportunities for SCI youth to work and earn a livelihood with dignity in an environment that caters to their needs.
In May 2023, Alamba Charitable Trust took up the challenge of providing residential care for six SCI youths in need.
This initiative has transformed their lives, instilling a renewed sense of hope and independence.
Building on the success of the pilot program, Alamba Chethana was launched in August 2023 as India’s first 32-bed facility dedicated to supporting SCI individuals. This initiative provides not only residential care but also opportunities for dignified employment.
Supported by Neo Motion and Zomato, this facility welcomes beneficiaries from Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. It empowers them to lead independent lives while actively contributing to society.
The Alamba Chethana program offers life-changing benefits:
The Alamba Chethana project is more than just a program—it's a movement to uplift Spinal Cord Injured (SCI) individuals and help them live with dignity and independence. But we can’t do it alone. We need your support to make this initiative even more impactful.
Every small action has the power to make a big difference. Together, let’s build a more inclusive society where everyone has the chance to thrive.
